Frequently Asked Questions
We welcome all fitness levels at Boom Pilates. We offer three levels of classes that cater to everyone from the total Pilates newbie to the seasoned Reformer-Guru!
Our foundational level is called Essential. This class is where we would like all new guests of Boom Pilates to start. We will teach you the ins and outs of the Pilates reformer and show you multiple modifications. The class moves at a slower training pace that will help you grow in your practice for years to come.
Our most popular class is the Intermediate Level. This class moves much faster than the Essential Level, includes multiple plank series, targets the full body and places a laser-focus on core work. This class will help you break a sweat, and you will feel a true “Boom burn” for days following this class.
The class schedule is open for bookings 4 weeks ahead of time on the MINDBODY app and 3 weeks ahead from our schedule here on the website.
Instructors and classes are subject to change without notice. Please visit the class schedule page for all live updates.
Special Pilates socks are required at all times in class and are available for purchase in the studio. For any questions, please call 314-370-0001.
Yes! All classes are booked digitally through the MINDBODY app. Our clients must create an account in order to purchase class credits and register for class. To create an account, go to our website schedule page, or download the MINDBODY app and search for Boom Pilates.
Wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move in, much like you’d wear to a yoga class.* We do award bonus points if you choose to rock your pink fitness gear to stay “on brand” with Boom. 😊
*For both safety and sanitary reasons, we require that you also wear Pilates grip socks in the studio.
All clients must be at least 17 years old. Clients ages 17-18 will require a signature from a parent or guardian in-studio.
If it’s your first time at the STL studio, please arrive exactly 5 minutes prior to the class start time to sign our waiver, check-in and get a tour of the studio. If you are not a new client, we also recommend arriving 5 minutes prior to your class start time to get set up on your reformer.
No, but this is strongly encouraged. We know that the equipment can be a little intimidating, especially if it’s your first time. While our group instructors are dedicated to making sure you feel comfortable on the reformer during your first and any additional classes, a private session can help you learn all about the basic principles of Pilates and get to know the reformer, including the springs and their respective tensions settings and all the additional props that go with this amazing piece of equipment.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the waitlist for private sessions
Class credits can be purchased on our website or on the MINDBODY app.
All sales are final. All classes must be prepaid. Classes are not refundable, exchangeable or transferable.
We do have an intro offer available to all new clients: BOGO (buy one class, get one class free). These two classes must be taken within 14 days of each other. To inquire about this new client offer, email us at email@example.com.
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for classes. If you cancel a class within our cancellation window, which ends 12 hours before the class’s start time, the class will be credited back to your account for later use. If you need to cancel less than 12 hours before the class’s start time, you will lose the class credit.
Due to high demand, Boom Pilates is currently booking private sessions from a waitlist.
To be added to the waitlist, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We offer a Monthly Unlimited Membership to a limited amount of guests monthly (due to 2021 capacity/Covid-19 restrictions).
Our BPL membership is 10 classes monthly for $139.
This membership requires a 3-month minimum commitment and also requires a 30-day cancelation notice to end the contract.
The Monthly Unlimited Membership auto-renews every month. The day your monthly membership expires, your account will be automatically charged for the next month under the same terms. If you’re a Monthly Unlimited Member and you don’t show up or cancel late (less than 12 hour notice) for a class, you will incur a $10 late/cancel fee.
To join our Monthly Unlimited Membership, you can email our studio to get added to the waitlist: email@example.com.
If you want to cancel your membership at any point, email our team 30 days prior to the expiration of the current month and we will cancel the auto-renew.
NEW CLIENTS: To ensure the safety of our clients, if you are new to Boom we suggest arriving 5 minutes before class begins. We require that all new clients receive a proper introduction to the instructor and equipment, as well as sign a new client waiver. For your safety and the experience of all clients, new clients will not be permitted to join class more than 5 minutes into the workout. Thank you in advance for understanding.
EXISTING CLIENTS: It is recommended that you arrive exactly 5 minutes before the start of class. However, existing clients can join the session up to 10 minutes after the start of class. If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the start time, please know that your spot may be given to a walk-in or waitlisted client at the 10 minute mark following the start of the class.
We have a 12 hour cancellation policy for group classes. If you wish to cancel a class, you must do so at least 12 hours before the class’s start time in order for the class to be credited back to your account.
We have a 24-hour cancelation policy for Private/Duet/Trio/Party sessions. If you need to cancel your privately booked session, please email the studio and message your instructor on or before the 24 hour window prior to your scheduled session.
Due to significant waitlists and pre booking practices, a $10 accountability fee (and loss of pass) is charged for any late cancel that is not within the studio cancel window.
If it is before the 12 hour cancellation window, you can switch classes by cancelling the class that you are currently enrolled in and sign up for another class. If you realize you cannot make it to your class within the 12 hour window prior to the class’s start time, classes cannot be switched.
If you need to cancel a reservation, log in to the MINDBODY app, click on your scheduled classes, choose the booked session you’d like to cancel and click “Cancel.” If you have trouble cancelling or have any questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If a class you’d like to take is full, we highly recommend putting yourself on the waitlist. In order to do so, you must purchase a class or pack of classes. If you do not get a spot in the class, the class credit will be returned to your account. If a spot opens more than 2 hours before the start of class, you will be added to the class and receive an email confirmation. BOOM TIP: Be sure to check your app to see if you got in a few hours before the class begins.
All classes have a 12-hour cancellation policy, so if you’re added to a class from the waitlist at any time more than 12 hours before the start of class, be aware that the 12-hour cancellation policy still applies. If you are added to the class and don’t remove yourself in time, you will lose the class credit.
Any time before the 12-hour class cancellation window, if you are still on the waitlist and realize you no longer want a spot in the class, please remove yourself from the waitlist, just like you would cancel a class, and the class credit will be returned to your account.
Please note that the waitlist locks and becomes void at the 2-hour mark prior to that class start time. If you did not get in, the pass is added back to your account at this time.
If you were a regular Boom client before you became pregnant, you can continue to take classes until week 35, as long as you feel comfortable and have your doctor’s approval. Please discuss this with your doctor before taking class. If you are new to Boom Pilates, we do not suggest you try our classes for the first time while pregnant.
Your physician should also clear any post-pregnancy activity. Remember to give grace to your amazing body and take your time getting back into all core-focused workout post-delivery.
We would not advise taking a class until your doctor/PT/OT clears you to do so. We highly recommend that you set up private Pilates sessions with one of our certified Boom Squad instructors as you work through any post-injury recoveries.
We love your kiddos but we want to keep this studio focused around your goals and some “you time”. We do not offer childcare in the Boom Room.
If you need to leave your phone by your equipment in the case of an emergency, we get it. Otherwise, please leave your phone in your bag or cubby during the workout. However, don’t forget to post a before or after “Boomie” selfie and tag us on social media!
We do not have showers, but we do have a restroom that doubles as a dressing room if you need to change before or after the session.
We do not have locker rooms, but we offer cubbies for any of your belongings.
Friendly reminder: We are not liable for any of your personal items in the studio, or in your vehicle, during your time spent in the Boom Room.
Merchandise must be returned within 7 days of purchase with the original hangtags attached.
All garments are subject to inspection.
Refunds will only be issued in the form of account credit.
