Frequently Asked Questions
We welcome all levels at Boom Pilates. We offer level-based Pilates programming that can cater to everyone from the total Pilates newbie to the seasoned Contrology-guru. We deliberately max our classes to 8 students at a time, to ensure your safety and Pilates education is our top priority.
Our foundational level is called Essential. This class is where our newest guests begin if injury free and ready for full-body Pilates. We will teach you the ins and outs of Pilates in Essential, Level I. This level class moves at a slower pace to gain a solid foundational understanding of the entire Pilates method, as this knowledge will assist you in your practice for years to come. We do require that all students take 3-5 Essential classes, prior to moving into our Intermediate classes.
Once ready to “turn it up”, our most popular class is the Intermediate level. This class moves with twice the intensity of Essential and targets a much deeper focus on full-body Pilates. Our Intermediate session will ensure that you break a sweat, learn more about the philosophies within of the method, and you will feel a full-body-burn for days following this class.
Once you have taken +20 (or more) Intermediate sessions, feel free to partner with our Squad to inquire about joining one of our Advanced classes. These sessions are limited weekly and require a full understanding of the repertoire and strength required in Joe’s work.
Please note: While Megaformer and X-Former classes offer valuable movement experiences, this fitness knowledge is not a direct progression into our Intermediate Pilates sessions. To fully understand and embody the Pilates method, we recommend beginning with our Essential classes. These sessions establish the foundational principles, techniques, and movement patterns that allow you to build confidence and find a deeper connection to the Joseph Pilates method.
The group class schedule is open for bookings 5 weeks ahead of time on the MINDBODY app.
You can personally book, manage, waitlist, and cancel all sessions within the app. We recommend downloading the MINDBODY app (search Boom Pilates after download) to individually manage your sessions.
To avoid the loss of pass and the $9.99 late-cancel fee, please always edit/cancel any of your bookings within 12-hours of your class start time. This policy allows us the proper time to reach out to other student and ensure all of the 8 limited spots are filled for each upcoming session.
Note: Our website is another great place to login to your profile. Simply search www.boompilateslife.com (schedule tab) to pick a class, login, or edit a previous reservation.
Instructors and classes are subject to change without notice. Please visit the class schedule page for all live updates, or login to the MINDBODY app to review your upcoming reservation details.
For client safety, Pilates grip-socks are recommended at all times on the equipment, and socks are available for purchase in the studio. For questions, please call 314-370-0001.
Yes! All of your group sessions will be booked digitally through the MINDBODY software. All of our clients create an account in order to purchase class credits and register for any class. To create an account, go to our website schedule page (schedule link), or download the MINDBODY app and search for Boom Pilates. You will be asked to create a private profile and place your card on file to become a Boom Pilates client.
Please note: All individuals are required to login individually. Passes and credits are not transferable in the studio, so each guest will have a personal booking profile in the app to ensure the rsvp process is specific to each client-account within our system.
Wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move in, much like you’d wear to a yoga or bootcamp class.
*For both safety and sanitary reasons, we highly recommend wearing Pilates grip socks in the studio.
All clients must be 18 years or older to entire the studio.
If it’s your first time at the STL studio, please arrive exactly 5 minutes prior to the class start time to sign our waiver, check-in and get a quick tour of the equipment. If you are not a new client, we always welcome you to arrive 5 minutes early as well, to ensure we all begin on time.
If you are more than 5 minutes late to the start time, the doors will not open for class access, and the late cancel fee will apply. We apologize for this inconvenience, but to ensure full client/teacher safety, we work deliberately to minimize distractions for all guests practicing in our Boom Rooms.
It’s not required but always recommended, especially for someone with challenged mobility or managing any injury recovery. We are currently managing Privates from a waitlist. Message us at info@boompilateslife.com to learn about our next opening on the books.
Our Private Pilates sessions are $85 for one, or you can purchase a 4-pack for $310.
The Essential-Level group session is another place to start your Boom Pilates journey. Once released from your physician to begin group-class movement, feel pain-free, and ready for full-body Pilates, you are welcome to sign up for an Essential Equipment class. Login to our website under the schedule tab to book your first Essential group class.
Class credits can be purchased on our website or on the MINDBODY app.
All sales are final. All classes must be prepaid. Classes are not refundable, exchangeable, or transferable between guests.
YES! We do have an awesome group-class offer available to all new guests: BOGO (buy one class, get one class free). These two classes must be taken within 30 days from the date of the BOGO purchase. This BOGO is for new clients only.
To inquire more about this offer, email us at info@boompilateslife.com.
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for classes. If you cancel a class within our cancellation window, which ends 12 hours before the class’s start time, the class will be credited back to your account for later use.
Due to high demand, Boom Pilates is currently booking private sessions from a waitlist. Please email info@boompilatesife.com to get on the books for our next available spot.
YES! We offer a Monthly VIP Unlimited Membership to a limited number of guests monthly.
Our VIP membership includes 10 classes monthly for $169.
This membership does require a 3-month minimum contracted commitment; however, you can cancel the auto-renewal plan at any time after the 3-month contract timeline.
We know it’s close impossible to find authentic Pilates group classes for less than $16.90 in the greater STL area, so this membership is limited. We do have a small waitlist for joining this VIP plan. Please email us to get added to the waitlist today!

Boom Pilates honors both pathways.
Our programming is rooted in the foundations of Joe’s original work, while also incorporating the thoughtful evolution and versatility of modern exercise science, especially as it pertains to Pilates modifications and move variations. Our teachers are all comprehensively certified and trained to teach the Pilates method from schooling programs that have been approved as verified training programs by the NPCP.
Most of our “Boom Squad” has gained multiple Pilates teaching certifications and we believe that we are never done learning as true practitioners of Joe’s work. Even our owner, Danyal Timmermann, is modeling this mission by currently embarking on a deeply Classical teaching path, after spending a decade teaching/mentoring in the Contemporary Pilates space.
When you take a class a Boom, you will find that our teachers are all skilled to teach all levels, while utilizing all Pilates apparatuses, However, we do differ in our individual teaching style. We celebrate and honor these teaching differences in our culture. If you are new to Boom, please take advantage of our BOGO offer… this will allow you to take two sessions (ideally from two separate teachers), so you can find a teaching style, that works best for your goals.
*NOTE* If you are seeking only a Classical Pilates experience, we understand that the work, order, AND type of equipment truly matter to you. We do offer Classical Privates in our back studio, utilizing custom ‘Pilates Design” equipment, taught by one of our 3rd lineage teachers (Romana lineage).
We offer client service hours every Tuesday and Thursday. Please email us @ info@boompilateslife.com to plan a chat with one of our Studio Leads.
NEW CLIENTS: To ensure the safety of our clients, if you are new to Boom, please arrive 5 minutes before class begins. We require that all new clients receive a proper introduction to the instructor and equipment, as well as sign a new client waiver. For your safety and the experience of all clients, new clients will not be permitted to join class more than 5 minutes into the workout. Thank you in advance for understanding.
EXISTING CLIENTS: It is also suggested that you arrive exactly 5 minutes before the start of class. If you arrive more than 5 minutes after the start time, please know that your spot may be given to a waitlist client, and/or late fee applied to your account.
We have a 12 hour cancellation policy for group classes. If you wish to cancel a class, you must do so at least 12 hours before the class’s start time in order for the class to be credited back to your account.
We have a 24-hour cancelation policy for Private/Duet/Trio/Party sessions. If you need to cancel your privately booked session, please email the studio and message your instructor on or before the 24 hour window prior to your scheduled session.
Due to waitlist processes and prebooking practices, a $9.99 accountability fee (and loss of pass) is charged for any late cancel that is not within the studio cancel window.
If it is before the 12-hour cancellation window, you can switch classes by cancelling the class that you are currently enrolled in and sign up for another class. If you realize you cannot make it to your class within the 12-hour window prior to the class’s start time, classes can no longer be switched.
If you need to cancel a reservation, log in to the MINDBODY app, click on your scheduled classes, choose the booked session you’d like to cancel and click “Cancel.” If you have trouble cancelling or have any questions, email info@boompilateslife.com.
Reminder: we do have a 12-hour timeline to cancel all classes to avoid the class-loss and late fee charge.
We know this can be a little confusing at first! Here is the scoop…
WAITLIST DEETS:
If your desired class is full, we highly recommend joining the waitlist. To reserve your spot on the waitlist, you’ll need to purchase a class or class package. If a spot does not become available, your class credit will automatically be returned to your account.
If space opens more than 2 hours before class begins, you’ll be added to the session and receive an email confirmation. BOOM TIP: Check your app before class to confirm your spot—waitlist openings can happen quickly, especially leading up to the class time.
Please note: All classes follow our 12-hour cancellation policy. If you are added to a class from the waitlist more than 12 hours before the start time, the standard cancellation policy still applies. If you are unable to attend and do not cancel within the required window, your class credit will be forfeited. (Note: forgetting to remove yourself off the list, still has a charge, even if you do not show up)
If your plans change while you are still on the waitlist, you may remove yourself any time before the 2-hour cutoff and your class credit will be returned to your account.
Again, the waitlist closes 2 hours before each class begins. At that time, any remaining waitlist requests become void, and unused class credits are automatically returned to your account.
If you were a regular Boom client before you became pregnant, you can continue to take classes until week 30-35, as long as you feel comfortable and have your doctor’s approval. Please discuss this with your doctor before taking any Pilates class. If you are new to Boom Pilates, we do not suggest you try our classes for the first time while pregnant.
Your physician should also clear any post-pregnancy activity. Remember to give grace to your amazing body and take your time getting back into all core-focused workout post-delivery.
We would not advise taking a Pilates class until your doctor/PT/OT clears you to do so. We highly recommend that you set up private Pilates sessions with one of our certified Boom Squad instructors as you slowly work through all post-injury recoveries.
We love your kiddos but we want to keep this studio focused around your goals and some “you time”. We do not offer childcare in the Boom Room.
If you need to leave your phone by your equipment in the case of an emergency, we get it. Otherwise, please leave your phone in your bag or cubby during the workout. However, don’t forget to post a before or after “Boomie” selfie and tag us on social media!
We do not have showers, but we do have multiple restrooms that double as dressing rooms, if you need to change before or after the session.
We do not have locker rooms, but we offer cubbies for any of your belongings.
Friendly reminder: We are not liable for any of your personal items in the studio, or in your vehicle, during your time spent in the Boom Room.
Merchandise must be returned within 7 days of purchase with the original hangtags attached.
All garments are subject to inspection.
Refunds will only be issued in the form of account credit.
